The program

NADC Group Dock Check-In. NADC Group operates freight docks in the Chicago area and runs a dock scheduling system at those sites. This program sends two kinds of operational text message, and no marketing of any kind.

The first goes to truck drivers who are physically at one of our docks. A driver arriving for a booked appointment checks in at a self-service kiosk in our building and enters his own mobile number. From that moment until he leaves, we text him the operational instructions he needs and cannot get any other way: which dock door to pull into and where that door is, when he has been cleared to be worked, when loading or unloading has started, when it has finished and he may leave, and if his appointment is cancelled. These messages are the check-in service itself — a driver gives his number in order to receive them.

The second goes to a small fixed list of NADC Group employees who have asked their administrator, in writing, to be told when a trailer at a dock door has been marked ready to return.

How drivers opt in

A driver uses the check-in screen in our building. He types his appointment number, then his name and his own mobile number. Immediately beside the mobile number field, and directly above the Complete button he must press to finish checking in, the screen states:

By using this system, you consent to receive text messages from NADC Group about your dock door and loading/unloading for the length of your visit. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out. Privacy: https://www.nadcgroup.com/privacy-policy/ · Terms: https://www.nadcgroup.com/sms-terms/

Using the kiosk is the consent. When the driver presses Complete, the system records the date and time and stores that statement word for word against his appointment. We do not text any number that has not been through this check-in, and we never collect mobile numbers from any third party.

Message frequency

Message frequency varies. A driver typically receives between two and six messages during a single visit, depending on how his load is handled.

Cost

Message and data rates may apply. NADC Group does not charge for these messages; your mobile carrier may.

Help and opting out

Text HELP to any message from us for help.

Text STOP to any message from us to opt out. You will receive one confirmation and then no further messages. A driver who opts out will not receive dock door or loading instructions by text and should ask at the dock office instead.
